The Riders of Rohan are more based on the Saxons then the Norse. Just to get that out of the way.;)

Yggdrasil was originally a French publication (7th Circle IIRC) and was translated into English by Cubicle 7. It is a great game (from reading it only), I would recommend it for those interested in playing in a Norse based game.

Another good ep guys! And thank you for giving me, possibly, my next character idea…a Halfling Barbarian is just something that is screaming to be done.

Are you familiar with the Eberron setting?
They have Halfling barbarians riding Velociraptors I think I spelt that right?

Oh my god, someone else knows about the movie “The Barbarians.” That thing was like my version of “The Beastmaster” and “Conan the Barbarian” when I was a kid.
Being stuck with no cable and no satellite in the boonies of southern Illinois as a child meant I was limited to whatever was on the local Saint Louis tv stations for the saturday and sunday weekend movies.
If I was lucky they might actually show something I was interested in. The Barbarians was one of those that I started watching half way through and I was glued to the tv trying to figure out what the hell I was watching, and loving every minute of it.
I give it a recommendation to anybody who wants to watch a “awesomely crappy 8o’s fantasy romp” like Conan and Beastmaster. Its not good, but not terrible either… I guess… Look, I may be bias because of nostalgia, but it can’t be any worse than Krull…

Crypts & Things from D101 Games should be out soon. It is a Sword & Sorcery setting using the Swords & Wizardry engine. The Barbarian class there in is based on the one that came out back in the late ’70s. Should be a blast to play from what I’ve heard.
