Selling Out & Why it’s COOL! – Ep200

Ep200 Selfie

Wow. 200 episodes. It is definitely a milestone that we didn’t’ think, in the beginning, we would achieve. We’ve learned and changed a lot over the course of this project. What started out as a whim, turned into much more than a hobby. It has shown us a lot about ourselves, each other and the community. We have made some great friends, lost some others. All and all we are stronger and enriched because of it.

Thank you all for riding with us on this journey so far.

Here’s to 200 more!

Cast – Jayson, Shawn, Eric, Shannon, Dan, Mike, Brandon and Brandi

Items Mentioned:
Rocket Age, Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, Star Wars, Victoriana, Blood Bowl, FATE System, Gen Con, Savage Worlds, Aces & Eights

  1. Here’s an idea for what you could do for a show: set up some sort of bidding system (maybe through Patreon?) to have people pay to decide what you should do next for an actual play.

  2. Congratulations Gamerstable! I went back and listened to some of the older episodes, and as much as I love the 4 loco episode, I agree the show has continually raised the bar. I started listening during the Victoriana Actual Plays, and have listened since. In the weeks when I have to cancel my group’s games, your podcast is a delightful bridge to keep me sharp, updated, and entertained.
Thanks so much for all 200.

  3. Congratulations on the big 200! I guess you can count me as the second person who regularly listens to the old eps. AFAIC the two best eps you guys have done is the “What has gaming done” and “Gaming Addiction”, but all are entertaining. Keep up the good work! I eagerly await the next AP.

    1. Thank you Scott. For listening (repeatedly) and your comment.

“What has gaming done” & “Gaming Addiction” (along with this one) are very personal episodes for us. Talking about the “safe” stuff like GM tricks, game pointers and the like are easy, opening up isn’t. We are glad you like them.

  4. Oh, BTW. You did do the Pepper Box wrong in your Victoriana AP…according to 3rd ed anyway (perhaps the rules were a little clearer in that edition). But, I have to admit your results were very entertaining. 😉

      1. I particularly liked the scene where the Gnome (I think) character was thrown off the fire escape by the recoil. That was hilarious.

  5. Congrats on 200. With episode 201 you will become one of the highest quantity podcasts that I listen to.

Here is a Star Wars RPG using the Apocalypse World engine:

there is also a 2nd star wars game with a different take:

I’d recommend that you try straight up Apocalypse World, Dungeon World, or Monster of the Week before playing any of the hacks though as they have a bit more rules and advice that would help you get into the Apocalypse World style games.
